With every new version of Windows, we get given more and more features and functionality which make it more pleasing on the eye and supposedly easier to use.

However, generally a lot of these features come at a price. That price can be a large decrease in the speed and ultimately usability of your computer, especially if you have a slightly older or lower spec’d machine.

If you need a better performance pc than a beauty pc then you can turn off these visual effects with the following steps:

  • - Open the Control Panel, type visual into the Search area

  • - Click Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

  • - Choose Adjust for best performance, and then click Apply.


In a few seconds you will see a much plainer user interface and you will get much faster response times.

If you don’t like the look & feel of Windows now, you can choose the Custom option instead and change things gradually until you get the balance you want between performance and effects.

Save Time And Have More Fun With Your Twittering!

There’s a great new application called TweetGlide which I have just tried out and found that it makes my tweeting a lot simpler and much more fun.  It’s free and you can customize it exactly the way you want it.

It also allows you to display an advert to all users so can be used as a great way to go viral and grow your traffic to your profile. You can also earn money with it, which is even better.

What’s more, there is an iPhone compatible version coming soon and I am really looking forward to being able to do this on my phone and my pc.

speed pc up If, like me, you are often frustrated with your computer running slowly and want to know the best way to speed pc up without spending any money, then you’ve come to the right place.

WHY? Because like you, I have spent crazy amounts of time & hard earned cash trying to keep my running pc the way it was when it came out of the box. Almost without any real success, as my greying beard will testify.

I even went as far as to build my own performance pc instead of buying a standard machine from a store. That was a good thing at the beginning – I learnt how to put all the parts together and more importantly, how Windows actually uses (or rather doesn’t use) your pc.
