How to Safely & Completely Remove Programs.
Over time, most of us install many different programs on our computers – whether it’s to try them out and then we forget them, or whether we use them for some time and then install and use a better program; our computers very easily become clogged up with unwanted programs which seriously slow down our machines.
The problem with this is that when we do try and uninstall them, they often leave behind some files or folders which it seems are almost impossible to get rid of. And that is besides all those entries in the registry which your computer is constantly looking for. The registry (used for storing information about where and how programs are installed on your computer) can be a major cause of slow windows computers.
So, if you are looking to simply clean your machine up a bit or you have a problem with removing a particular program, I recommend using RevoUninstaller. This is a program which works in a similar way to the standard Windows Remove Programs function, but goes much deeper into your machine when you select a program to uninstall.
I use RevoUninstaller with the default settings (Moderate) and what this will do for you is not only remove the program which you have selected but will also search through your computer and find any references to that program wherever they may be (registry, hidden folders etc). Once the program itself has been uninstalled, Revo gives you the option to remove all this additional data as well and this will ensure your machine is cleaner and runs much faster.
Additionally, Revo automatically sets a Restore Point before removing any programs so if something should go wrong with your machine after the uninstall, it is a very easy job just to quickly restore to how it was before you removed the program.
I discovered RevoUninstaller some time ago and have religously used it on all my computers since, and even now some of the developers and software guys I work with also use it as it is really a 1 click unistaller.
Try it out and see what you think.
