Verify that the computer does in fact have the KMS host installed. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, and then right click on Command Prompt. Run as administrator. If you are now prompted for a password or confirmation, do this. When the command prompt box appears, type in the following command, and then press Enter: nxlookup -type=all_vlmcs._tcp>kms.txt
The command will generate a file, then open this KMS file. The file will contain one or more entries. By default, the KMS host server every 24 hours to dynamically register a DNS SRV server evidence. In order to inspect the registry to ensure that this happens, follow these steps:

  • Click Start, type in regedit, and then press Enter.
  • Locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SL and then click on it.
  • The DisableDnsPublishing subkey should be present and have a value of 1. If it is missing, create a DWORD value by right clicking DisableDnsPublishing, click Modify, in the Value Data box type in 0, and then click Okay.
